UF otolaryngology residents rank fourth in nation on annual exam

Otolaryngology residents at the University of Florida College of Medicine scored among the nation’s best on an annual training exam administered by the American Board of Otolaryngology.

The 10 UF residents ranked fourth out of 130 programs based on their composite scores on the yearly written exam all otolaryngology residents take. The exam is designed to monitor how residents are progressing in regard to the national core curriculum for teaching residents.

Otolaryngologists complete a five-year residency, which consists of one year of surgical training and four years of general instruction in otolaryngology.

The American Board of Otolaryngology’s mission is to assure the public that those certified by the board meet the highest standards of training and knowledge, and progressively raise the quality of patient care in otolaryngology head and neck surgery.
