Institute on Aging faculty member elected society fellow
In recognition of his outstanding achievements and exemplary contributions in the field of aging research, the Gerontological Society of America has bestowed fellow status on University of Florida Institute on Aging scientist Manfred Diehl.
Diehl, an assistant professor in the College of Medicine’s department of health policy and epidemiology, was awarded the superior status for his scientific contributions, which primarily involve social and emotional development across the adult life span. A member of the organization since 1988, Diehl was elected a fellow at its annual meeting in Washington, D.C., in November. The 5,200-member society is the world’s largest multidisciplinary organization focusing on research issues in aging.
