Nimmo appointed to the ADA Commission on Dental Accreditation

Arthur Nimmo, D.D.S., chairman of prosthodontics at the University of Florida College of Dentistry, has been appointed to serve four years as a commissioner on the American Dental Association Commission on Dental Accreditation.

The commission is responsible for the accreditation process for dental schools and advanced specialty training programs. Nimmo also will chair the commission’s Review Committee on Prosthodontics Education. Prosthodontics is the restoration and replacement of missing teeth and is one of nine specialties recognized by the ADA.

Nimmo received his doctor of dental surgery degree from the University of Maryland in 1979 and completed specialty training in prosthodontics at the Center for the Health Sciences at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1983. He is a diplomat of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a past president of the American College of Prosthodontists.
