Two UF dental students win scholarships
Two University of Florida College of Dentistry students have been awarded scholarships from the Thomas P. Hinman Dental Society.
Senior dental student Curtice Nekula and Michael Cook, a second-year dental student, received the awards based on their academic performance and need. The students, referred to as Hinman Scholars, were guests at the society’s recent meeting in Atlanta and were honored at a special luncheon. Students from 36 colleges and universities nationwide were selected for scholarships.
The Hinman Dental Meeting is regarded as one of the United States’ most prestigious continuing education program for the dental profession. In addition to providing scholarships to students, the 89-year old society provides grants to dental education groups and clinics.
