UF anesthesiologist appointed to Florida Board of Medicine
Gov. Jeb Bush has appointed University of Florida anesthesiologist Laurie K. Davies to a three-year term on the Florida Board of Medicine.
The appointment of Davies, an associate professor in the College of Medicine’s anesthesiology department, is expected to be confirmed by the Senate during its spring session. In the meantime, Davies is beginning to meet with the board.
The 15-member Board of Medicine serves as the disciplinary panel for the state’s physicians. It also is involved in setting standards for care and rules for physicians.
