UF assistant vice president named to national statistical board
University of Florida biostatistician Michael Conlon has been named to the National Institute of Statistical Sciences’ board of trustees.
Conlon, a research associate professor in the department of statistics and assistant vice president for academic information systems and support at UF’s Health Science Center, will serve a two-year term on the 36-member board.
The NISS is an independent research institute established by several national statistics societies and Research Triangle universities and organizations. In their efforts to conduct cross-disciplinary research on problems of national importance, NISS-affiliated researchers are tackling projects in information technology, transportation, environment and computer model evaluation.
