UF researchers contribute to transplantation textbook
Nine UF faculty members have contributed to a new textbook on organ transplantation. The book “Biopsychosocial Perspectives on Transplantation,” will be published July 1 by Kluwer Academic/Plenum Publishers.
The book focuses on the many interdisciplinary issues involved in organ transplantation, including the donation and procurement of organs, the medical, nursing and psychological aspects and considerations, emerging clinical practice issues and the future of organ transplantation.
James Rodrigue, an associate professor in the College of Health Professions’ department of clinical and health psychology, edited the book and provided a chapter on living organ donation. Other UF contributors include Dr. John Wingard, Dr. Alan Reed, Dr. Richard Howard, Michael Perri, Sam Sears, Dr. Richard Schofield, Dr. Maher Baz, and Michelle Bishop.
