UF veterinary college to host annual open house in Gainesville April 21

Not your average dog and pony show, the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine’s annual open house promises once more to offer something for everyone. It will be held from 10 a .m. to 3 p.m. April 21.

The open house will feature pony rides, a horse treadmill demonstration and educational exhibits. Also on the agenda will be equine ultrasound, live spay and neuter surgeries and demonstrations by search and rescue dogs. The Gainesville Police Department’s K-9 unit will be on hand to entertain the crowd.

A complete timetable of events will be available in the coming weeks. This year’s open house is being held in conjunction with the college’s 25th anniversary.

The event is free and open to the public. For the safety of all, visitors are asked to leave personal pets at home.
