UF’s Woodson named to American Board of Otolaryngology post

Gayle Woodson, M.D., a professor of otolaryngology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, has been named exam chair for the American Board of Otolaryngology.

Woodson will coordinate written and oral certification exams administered by the board, as well as training tests used by otolaryngology residents to evaluate their educational progress. She also will direct the development of a process for maintaining certification in otolaryngology, the medical specialty devoted to the diagnosis and treatment of ear, nose and throat diseases.

Woodson has been a member of the American Board of Otolaryngology since 1994. For the past six years, she has represented the board on the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education’s residency review committee for otolaryngology. She joined the UF faculty in 2000.
