UF ophthalmologist wins achievement award
The American Academy of Ophthalmology has awarded University of Florida College of Medicine Professor William T. Driebe, M.D., its 2002 Senior Achievement Award.
The award honors those who have taught at academy meetings and served on educational committees. Driebe received a certificate last month at the academy’s annual meeting in Orlando. He has participated in the academy’s educational programs for nearly 20 years.
Driebe directs the ophthalmology department’s clinical services for corneal and external diseases and contact lenses. His research interests include corneal infections, corneal transplantation, contact lens complications and endophthalmitis (infection of the inside of the eye).
