UF pediatric cancer specialist appointed vice chairman of Children’s Oncology Group committee
Stephen P. Hunger, M.D., an associate professor and chief of the division of pediatric hematology/oncology at the University of Florida College of Medicine, has been appointed vice chairman of the Children’s Oncology Group Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia Committee.
Hunger will be responsible for coordinating biological studies of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia, the most common form of cancer in children.
The Children’s Oncology Group is a National Cancer Institute-supported cooperative group devoted to childhood and adolescent cancer research through clinical trials.
