Yucha named editor of major research journal

Carolyn Yucha, R.N., Ph.D., associate dean for research at the University of Florida College of Nursing, has been appointed editor of the journal Biological Research for Nursing.

The peer-reviewed journal focuses on basic, clinical and applied biological science research relevant to nursing care. Published quarterly by Sage Publications, it addresses issues such as new instruments and techniques for biological and physiological research and health-care interventions developed through research findings.

Yucha, a professor in the college’s department of adult and elderly nursing, has published more than 70 research papers and abstracts and has made more than 60 research presentations nationally and internationally. She also was named the 2001 Researcher of the Year by the Alpha-Theta Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau International nursing honor society.

Marnie Wiss, an assistant editor at the College of Nursing, will serve with Yucha as managing editor of the journal.
