Claydell Horne, Ph.D., R.N., associate professor
During her time at the College of Nursing, Claydell Horne, Ph.D., R.N., an associate professor, has worn the hats of researcher, educator and clinician and has made a strong impact on her students and patients. Horne's interest in aging has led her to be a leader in promoting health among rural residents. She recently completed a term as president of the college's Faculty Association and served as a core faculty member with the UF Institute on Aging.
"I cannot pick out one isolated accomplishment. Each day brought many small accomplishments," said Horne, citing experiences working with students and designing courses.
Retirement plans include spending more time with her grandchildren, learning new computer technology, performing a small amount of clinical practice and �discarding alarm clocks.
