Frakey awarded national fellowship for epilepsy research
Laura Frakey, a doctoral student in the University of Florida College of Health Professions’ clinical and health psychology department, has received a Predoctoral Research Fellowship from the Epilepsy Foundation. Frakey received a $16,000 award to support her doctoral training and research.
In her research, Frakey will utilize experimental computer-based techniques to assess spatial learning and memory in patients with epilepsy who have undergone surgery to relieve seizures. She will work under the mentorship of Russell Bauer, Ph.D., a professor of clinical and health psychology.
