Hollinger-College of Medicine teach of the year
Thomas G. Hollinger, PhD, associate professor
Hollinger has received the College of Medicine’s Basic Science Teacher of the Year award for his work teaching gross anatomy and medical cell and tissue biology. He also teaches histology to UF dental students, gross anatomy to UF students in the physician assistant program and advanced gross anatomy to medical students. He is director of anatomic education for the department of anatomy and cell biology. He has received Teacher of the Year awards three times from the College of Dentistry and twice from the physician assistant program.
Hollinger received his Ph.D. from Purdue University in 1974 and joined the UF faculty as an assistant professor in 1976. “Generally, I attempt to find what method works best with each individual student, and I try to approach individual students in the way that will be most effective for them,” Hollinger said. “Any of the very fine professors I teach with are good enough teachers to have received this honor. It’s nice to have students recognize our efforts.”
