Nancy Clyatt, Coordinator of administrative services College of Medicine department of surgery

Concluding 40 years of University of Florida employment, Nancy Clyatt said she will always feel a sense of pride in having seen many of the people who formerly worked under her supervision attain higher positions in the university system.

Clyatt began her UF career with the Institute for Food and Agricultural Sciences in 1963. She later worked for the Colleges of Education and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences before accepting an administrative position with the College of Medicine’s department of surgery in 1979. Eventually she worked for the founding chairman of surgery, the late Edward Woodward, M.D., and subsequently for Edward Copeland III, M.D., who recently retired after leading the department for 20 years. She also worked briefly for the new surgery chairman, William G. Cance, M.D.

After officially retiring April 30, Clyatt has been back in her office for several weeks helping to update departmental budgets before leaving for her new home in Sarasota. She said she looks forward to traveling more with her husband, Louie, and to spending more time with their son and grandson in Orlando.
