Nikzad Javid, D.M.D., Professor Emeritus

Nikzad Javid, D.M.D., has retired after 23 years of service to the College of Dentistry. Since joining the college’s department of prosthodontics in 1980 as a professor, Javid’s main interest was teaching. In 1969 he began teaching at the University of Tehran, where he published more than 30 articles and eight books over a 10-year period and eventually served as dean.

Javid has been recognized numerous times by his students, including being named Teacher of the Year. He recently was appointed professor emeritus.

Javid earned his doctorate in dental medicine from the University of Tehran in 1958, a maxillofacial prosthetics certificate in 1970 from University of Chicago, and a master’s of education from UF in 1982. Javid also earned his master’s of science from The Ohio State University, in addition to certificates in prosthodontics and in gnathological occlusion and oral rehabilitation.
