2004 Award wrap-up

Each spring, the College of Medicine senior class hosts an awards banquet, to celebrate the class’ imminent graduation and honor the departments, faculty members and residents who have had a special influence on the class’ education. Selections for the awards are determined by members of the senior class. The 2004 banquet was held April 23 at the Hilton University of Florida and Conference Center Gainesville.

* Basic Science Teaching Award — Kyle E. Rarey, Ph.D., department of anatomy and cell biology

* Clinical Science Teaching Award — Michael J. Banner, Ph.D., departments of anesthesiology and of physiology and functional genomics

* Hugh M. Hill Award — Outstanding Resident Teacher — Shireen Madani, M.D., department of obstetrics and gynecology

* Golden Apple Award to the Outstanding Basic Science Department — department of anatomy and cell biology

* Golden Apple Award to the Outstanding Third-Year Clerkship — the department of medicine’s division of internal medicine
