Day appointed assistant chairwoman of UF physical therapy department
Nationally recognized physical therapy educator Jane Day, Ph.D., P.T., has been named assistant chairwoman of the physical therapy department at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions.
Day most recently served as an associate professor in the physical therapy program at the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. She has served as a site reviewer for accreditation of physical therapy programs since 1976 and was appointed to the American Physical Therapy Association’s Committee on Physical Therapy Education and the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
In her UF post, Day also serves as the department’s director of education and the administrator of the entry-level master’s degree program. She will direct the department’s efforts to develop a doctor of physical therapy degree program, an entry-level degree that will eventually replace the master’s as the industry’s first professional degree.
