Ovwigho welcomed as new director of information technology

Godfrey Ovwigho has joined the College of Dentistry as director of information technology. Ovwigho comes to the college from Bowie State University in Maryland, where he served as director of information systems for the past four years.

“I am extremely pleased to have Godfrey onboard, and feel he will be an excellent leader who will bring new direction and enthusiasm to the college’s IT activities,” said Dean Teresa Dolan.

Previously, Ovwigho worked as technical manager for Oracle Corporation’s product development and education support division. He possesses extensive technical and administrative experience, and was instrumental in the implementation and management of Bowie State University’s PeopleSoft system for financial, human resource and student administration enterprises.

He holds a doctorate in education, a Ph.D. in management information systems and has extensive college-level teaching experience.
