Shechtman receives Evelyn Mackin Research Grant

Orit Shechtman, Ph.D., an associate professor in the department of occupational therapy at the University of Florida College of Public Health and Health Professions, received the American Society of Hand Therapists’ Evelyn Mackin Research Grant at the society’s annual meeting in September in Atlanta. The society awards only one of the $5,000 grants each year.

Shechtman studies the validity of grip strength measurement instruments and is currently developing new measures to evaluate patient’s maximal grip strength.
