Dr. Garth Graham (above), a national leader in health-disparities policy, talked about the challenges of making quality health care accessible to all segments of the population during a lecture in the McKnight Brain Institute on Wednesday, Jan. 30. Stressing that academic health centers must lead efforts to ensure minorities receive equitable health care, Graham’s talk was the first in College of Medicine Dean Bruce Kone’s series on “Innovations in Healthcare Access, Quality and Safety.” Graham is the deputy assistant secretary for minority health in the Office of Minority Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
