Meier-Kriesche recieves award for work in transplantation
Herwig-Ulf Meier-Kriesche, M.D., a professor of medicine and the medical director of renal and pancreas transplantation at the University of Florida College of Medicine, has been awarded the TTS-Novartis Award for Outstanding Contribution to the Evidence Base for Transplantation for his commendable work in transplantation.
He received the award at the XXII International Congress of The Transplantation Society, held Aug. 10-14 in Sydney, Australia.
The Transplantation Society aims to provide the focus for global leadership in transplantation through development, communication, education and ethical practice.
Meier-Kriesche, also the Central Florida Kidney Center endowed chair in medicine, is renowned for his research in renal transplantation, particularly on the use, metabolism and complications of immunosuppressive drugs in elderly renal transplant recipients.
