Barbara Richardson, Ph.D., R.N., received first Distinguished Service Award
Interim Dean Michael Perri and Associate Dean Mary Peoples-Sheps (right) presented the award to Richardson May 7 during the UF Public Health Conference.
Barbara Richardson, Ph.D., R.N., program director of the UF Area Health Education Centers, received the College of Public Health and Health Professions' first Distinguished Service Award. Richardson has helped guide the development of the college's public health program for several years, serving as chair of the Public Health External Advisory Committee and as a member of the Public Health Executive Committee. She is also a longtime supporter of college faculty members' work in areas such as mental health, smoking cessation and weight loss for rural residents.
