ShandsCair-Duck
A ShandsCair Flight made an emergency landing March 5 after a duck slammed into the helicopter’s windshield while the flight crew was transporting a patient to the Shands at the University of Florida Level 1 Trauma Center. Thanks to the pilot's swift action and the entire team’s calm and controlled response, the incident did not compromise patient care on board and they landed safely at the ShandsCair ground helipad. The patient was transported immediately to Shands at UF. (Photo by Sarah Kiewel/University of Florida)
