Services set for emeritus professor of pathology

K. Kendall Pierson, M.D., a longtime member of the department of pathology in the College of Medicine, died on Wednesday, March 24. Dr. Pierson joined the University of Florida in 1968, became a professor of pathology in 1970, and an emeritus professor in 1998. He also served as chief of staff at the UF Shands medical center.

He received his bachelor's degree at the University of Utah and his medical degree at New York University. Prior to coming to UF, he was an assistant professor at New York University. He was a first lieutenant in the U.S. Army Medical Service Corps from 1951 to 1953. He was married to the former Margery Thompson.

Everyone is welcome to attend services at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 27, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 3745 NW 16th Blvd., Gainesville.
