Community Health Worker is Improving Health - One Patient at a Time

Through a grant funded by the Florida Department of Health, the University of Florida College of Pharmacy is supporting a new prescription drug management service in Tampa for patients at Hillsborough Specialty Pharmacy. UF pharmacy researchers hope to reduce the risk for heart disease and stroke for at-risk patients within a community pharmacy setting. With personal assistance from the pharmacy’s Community Health Worker, patients can better understand and manage multiple medications to improve their health outcomes and quality of life.
