Superheroes descend on UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital to brighten the day for patients

Bright, spring days can be dreary for kids who find themselves being cared for in a hospital for a long period of time. While they work hard every day to regain their health, they know that their friends and other children are outdoors enjoying themselves.

Recognizing these summertime blues among some patients, the care teams at the UF Health Shands Children’s Hospital put out a call for help in cheering up the children. And, boy, did the superheroes respond!

Spiderman, Captain America, Iron Man and Batman came from all directions – from the sky in a UF Health ShandsCair helicopter and on the ground in the Batmobile. Other friends – including Black Panther, Loki and The Flash – joined their fellow heroes in hurrying to the hospital bringing happiness to everyone.
