UF Health Flagler signs agreement with Aetna
GAINESVILLE, Fla. — UF Health Flagler Hospital and UF Health St. Johns-employed physicians will again be in-network participating providers with Aetna insurance plans, effective April 1, UF Health officials have announced.
“We are pleased to announce that we have come to fair and acceptable terms with Aetna for commercial and Medicare Advantage products for our hospital and physician group,” said Huson Gilberstadt, M.D., chief medical officer for UF Health St. Johns. “We appreciate all the hard work our health care team has devoted to continuing to serve our patients in St. Johns and Flagler counties. This agreement enables us to continue our tradition of excellence in caring for our communities.”
The multiyear agreement provides market-competitive rates, reduces administrative obstacles that delay accessing care for patients and random policy changes that result in high out-of-pocket expenses for patients. The new arrangement also is designed to improve efficiency and care management.
