Biography
Dr. Wheeler received her undergraduate degree from Florida State University and her medical doctorate from St. George’s University. She completed her pediatric residency and a chief residency year at the University of Florida and performed a year of fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology Oncology at Duke University. She practiced as a general pediatrician for several years in North Carolina and Nashville, Tennessee and also spent 2 years as a hospitalist in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Vanderbilt University. She returned to her home state of Florida in 2015 and happily rejoined her friends and colleagues in the General Pediatrics Division at the University of Florida.Dr. Wheeler’s practice includes the general health care of children from birth through age 21, including routine health maintenance visits and the management of acute and chronic illnesses. She enjoys developing and maintaining relationships with her patients and their families and helping them achieve a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Wheeler is a strong advocate for disease prevention through immunization.
