Whether you need care for sprains, strains or minor fractures we’ve got you covered at UF Health ORTHOCare.

- Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Sunday 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Our state-of-the-art facility is home to several specialty clinics that provide patients with the full spectrum of orthopaedic medical care, rehabilitation and radiological services, all in one convenient location. Our physicians are faculty members at UF, expertly trained and certified in Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine to provide patients with a full spectrum of Orthopaedic services.
What to know about ORTHOcare
Does ORTHOcare treat infants and children?
Yes! In addition to adults, ORTHOcare has providers available to treat children, from two-years-old to teenagers, during all open hours. We also have physicians available to treat infants under two on Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
What injuries does ORTHOcare treat?
When you twist your ankle playing pickleball or pull a muscle working out on your exercise bike, UF Health ORTHOcare is a convenient orthopaedic-specific walk-in clinic offering fast, expert care for bone, soft-tissue and joint issues as well as offering X-rays and casting. Conditions treated include:
- Ankle, hand, wrist and knee sprains
- Joint sprains
- Minor fractures and most broken bones
- Muscle strains
- Foot pain
ORTHOcare primarily treats acute orthopaedic injuries. If you have chronic or ongoing musculoskeletal pain, please call us to make an appointment at our Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine Institute: (352) 273-7001.
What conditions are not treatable at our Walk-In ORTHOcare clinic?
For the following, please visit a specialist in that condition or, if urgent, go to the Emergency Room:
- Concussions
- Thoracic/rib injuries
- Craniofacial injuries
- Displaced fractures and dislocations
- Lacerations requiring sutures
- Neck or back pain
- Chronic pain/pain management
- Patients less than 2 years old. For acute issues in patients under 2 years old, please call our pediatric orthopaedic clinic at (352) 273-7001.
- Workers’ comp injuries
What services are offered at ORTHOcare?
At ORTHOcare we offer:
- Examinations
- X-rays
- Casting
- Splinting
- Referrals for other services needed (Physical therapy/surgery)
Does ORTHOcare take insurance?
Yes, ORTHOcare takes most insurances. However, the following plans are not accepted during the weekend and after-hours portion of ORTHOcare (5-9 p.m.):

- MyBlue
- Medicare Humana HMO
- United Healthcare Medicaid
- VA Insurance
- Worker's Compensation
How is ORTHOcare billed to insurance?
ORTHOcare appointments are billed as specialty office visits. If a patient's insurance requires a physician referral or prior authorization for specialty clinics, they must bring that to their walk-in visit.
Do I need to make an appointment for ORTHOcare?
No, we encourage you to just walk-in to our office, however you can call our number to confirm insurance if you'd like.
