Neurology Outcomes

What is mortality?

Mortality is the number of patients susceptible to death. The observed value is the number of patients that died. The expected value is the number of patients expected to die based upon their clinical condition (or how sick they are). UF Health strives to save patient lives and wants to keep our observed deaths lower than our expected deaths.

Why is this important to you as a patient?

Mortality rate is a good indicator of a good patient care process.
