About me
Rachel Nettle is a certified pediatric advanced practice provider in the division of pediatric surgery. She graduated from the University of Florida College of Nursing in 2004, and has been a nurse at UF Health Shands Children's hospital since 2004, starting as a bedside nurse on the pediatric unit. She graduated from UF with her MSN in 2007, and began her career as a pediatric advanced practice provider at UF Health with the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology in 2008. She created the role of the first Pediatric Sarcoma and Solid Tumor coordinator, and helped develop the program with Dr. Joanne Lagmay.
She began working with the division of pediatric surgery in 2013, where she continues to develop her clinical, research, and leadership skills. Her core values include excellent communication and cohesive teamwork and collaboration to provide a multidisciplinary approach to providing research driven, advanced practice nursing care to children. Her key skills include facilitating longitudinal patient and family engagement and collaborative care development, senior leadership in communication facilitation, and her persistent drive for continued career and personal development.
A major focus in her current role is improving quality of care to pediatric surgical patients, and the establishment of the first multidisciplinary pediatric home enteral therapy program at UF Health. In 2018, she established a dedicated clinic for pediatric patients with surgically placed feeding tubes to help standardize g-tube care for this medically complex group of children. Rachel is committed to UF Health core values and achieving excellence in patient care.
