Dr. Sandra Sullivan is a clinical associate professor in the department of Pediatrics and division of Neonatology at the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. In May of 1993, Dr. Sullivan earned a bachelor of science degree with honors in Interdisciplinary Studies: Basic Medical Sciences from UF, and in May 1996, an M.D. from UF. She completed a pediatric residency from July 1996-June 1999, and a Fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine also at UF. She has held several administrative offices from July 2001 to present, and is the founder and director of the UF Health Center for Breastfeeding and Newborns. She’s also the medical director of Lactation Services at UF Health Shands Children's Hospital and medical director of the UF Health NICU Follow-Up Clinic. She is board-certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine by the American Board of Pediatrics, and a International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiner.


Dr. Sullivan has received several honors and awards during her career. She is involved in several committees, most recently as Lead Physician of the UF Health Shands Hospital Best Fed Beginnings committee. She is a member of several medical professional membership societies, an invited lecturer and is deeply involved in civic activities.
