Patient joint replacement book
UF Health Flagler Hospital offers an educational guide for each patient undergoing total knee or hip replacement. While your physician will discuss information regarding your surgery, this guide is designed to help you prepare for surgery by giving you information you will need to achieve the best possible outcome from your joint replacement. We believe that well-prepared patients achieve the best surgical outcomes — physical preparation, education, continuity of care and pre-planned discharges are essential. This guidebook eprovides you and your caregivers everything you’ll need for a rapid return to a healthy, active lifestyle.
Preoperative joint replacement education class
UF Health St. Johns provides a free preoperative education class to help you prepare for your hip and knee replacement surgery.
The class is offered Monday and Wednesday from 10-11 a.m.

Question/answer session
This class is taught by members of the hospital's orthopaedic team. It is recommended that you bring a friend or family member if possible and that you attend 3-4 weeks prior to your anticipated surgery date. Research shows that patients who attend class and actively participate in their recovery experience the most positive results.
