Featured services and conditions treated

  • Sprains and Strains: Sudden movements and overexertion can lead to ligament sprains and muscle or tendon strains. Surgery is typically not needed and rest, ice, compression, and elevation (R.I.C.E) are often enough to promote healing and restore function.
  • Fractures: Repeated impact or trauma can cause bones to break. These can often heal with splinting or casting but proper diagnosis is important to ensure that you heal properly and regain full range of motion.
  • Tendon injuries: The most common type of tendon injuries include Achilles tendonitis (in the ankle) and rotator cuff injuries (in the shoulder) and occur from overuse, poor technique, or inadequate warm up. Conservative treatments are often appropriate but surgery may be considered for severe or chronic conditions. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) treatments can help stimulate the healing process for a faster recovery.
  • Overuse injuries: Shin splints, tennis elbow, and stress fractures are just some injuries that can occur with repeated motion or stress, often without periods of rest. Our sports medicine specialist can make recommendations for how to treat these injuries and prevent them from reoccurring.
  • Joint Injuries: Movements that involve jumping, turning, or sudden changes in direction can cause injuries to ligaments, cartilage, and other soft tissues. For example, anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and meniscus tears are fairly common. Depending on the severity and type of injury, surgery may be needed to ensure proper healing.
