Dermatopathology

Pathology is a branch of medicine that involves the laboratory examination of body tissues for diagnostic or forensic purposes to investigate the causes and effects of diseases. Dermatopathology is a subspecialty of both dermatology and surgical pathology focusing on the skin diseases and their possible causes at a microscopic and cellular level.

  • UF Health has one of the larger academic dermatopathology practices in the southeast and diagnose thousands of cases annually. All cases are read by the board-certified dermatopathologists who have over 20 years of combined experience. Dermatopathology services are a beneficial element in education, research and a key source of funding for the Department of Dermatology.  We provide technical and professional services, and provide second opinions on any of your routine or complex cases.  All cases will be billed to third party.
