General Internal Medicine

Within the UF Health Division of General Internal Medicine, a standout group of physicians is ready to provide comprehensive primary and specialty care services that are personalized for each of our adult patients.

An internist is a physician dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of common and complex health concerns that afflict adult patients. Doctors of internal medicine treat the whole body of the patient and are often called upon to manage multiple medical conditions simultaneously. UF Health internists partner with subspecialist physicians to solve uncommon, rare or particularly severe medical problems and to develop individual risk profiles for possible future illness.

In today’s complex medical environment, UF internists take pride in caring for patients for life – during office visits, as well as complex hospitalizations. When other medical specialists are involved, UF internists coordinate and help prioritize and manage difficult medical problems.

UF Health internists are expertly trained and certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, strongly emphasizing disease prevention and long-term health promotion. Our areas of expertise include prevention, diagnosis and treatment of hypertension, diabetes and heart disease.

At multiple convenient locations, patients have access to a full spectrum of internal medicine care. Our clinics offer immunizations, osteoporosis screening, cholesterol and glucose testing, pre-surgical consultation, as well as numerous other services.

Why choose us?

Our clinicians are regularly recognized for their outstanding patient care and clinical excellence. The Excellence in Patient Satisfaction Provider Award is a highly sought-after award. What makes this award so special is that the nominations are made by the patients.

Other awards that our physicians have been recognized for include: The Patient First Award, nominated by the clinic staff for providers who go “above and beyond” for their patients; the Honored Caregiver Award; the Shands Star Award for Quality of Care; the Customer Service is Key Award; the Outstanding Dedication to Patient Care Award; the Clinical Excellence Award for Outstanding Medical Care; and many more.
