Neurology is a clinical specialty devoted to the diagnosis and management of diseases that affect the nervous system. The nervous system includes the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. Those are the nerves that go to muscles and innervate the skin and sensory organs.

Are you experiencing headaches, movement issues, seizures, stroke symptoms, or other neurological issues? UF Health is here to help. Our team of skilled neurologists and care specialists are dedicated to providing every patient with the best possible treatment.

At UF Health, we use the latest technology and techniques to diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological conditions. From conducting thorough evaluations to prescribing medications and performing surgeries, we are equipped to handle all your neurological needs.

The nervous system controls all our sensations and behavior. That means there are almost an unlimited number of symptoms that may result from neurological disorders. Among a host of other symptoms, some signs of neurological disease may include:

  • Poor memory
  • Poor balance
  • Headache
  • Blackouts
  • Seizures
  • Speech disorders
  • Trouble swallowing
  • Numbness or loss of sensation
  • Spasticity
  • Tremor
  • Difficulty controlling urination

Neurologists work with your primary care physician to diagnose and manage your neurological symptoms. The neurological problems of infants and young children are often different from adults. Pediatric neurologists manage neurological problems in patients less than 18 years of age.

Don't let neurological issues hold you back from living your best life. At UF Health, we are committed to providing the highest level of comprehensive care to help you feel your best. Call us today to schedule an appointment with one of our expert Florida neurologists.
