Pediatric Rheumatology
Rheumatology is a sub-specialty of pediatrics devoted to the diagnosis and therapy of rheumatic diseases, dealing mainly with clinical problems involving joints, soft tissues, autoimmune diseases, vasculitis, and heritable connective tissue disorders.
With some of the country’s leading specialists and researchers, our pediatric team is focused on bringing the latest research and most innovative treatments to patients. Families come to UF Health from across the state and country for the type of care offered here. UF Health has one of only a few centers for proton beam radiation in the country, a congenital heart disease center and experts in pediatric surgery and diabetes, to name a few.
UF Health Shands Children's Hospital is located within UF Health Shands Hospital and is the second-largest children's hospital in Florida. It is the only comprehensive pediatric facility in North Central Florida.
