About me
My name is Tammy Euliano, MD, and I’m a professor of anesthesiology with a specialty in obstetric anesthesia and am also a joint associate professor of obstetrics and gynecology as well as an affiliate associate professor in the Department of Physiology and Functional Genomics. I joined the Department of Anesthesiology as an assistant professor in 1996. I’m a lifelong gator and completed all of my training, from undergrad through my fellowship in obstetric anesthesiology, here at the University of Florida.
I’m passionate about keeping my patients safe, informed, and as comfortable as possible through surgery to labor. My clinical interests include high-risk pregnancies and labor and delivery. My research interests focus on maternal-fetal monitoring and preeclampsia detection.
I was fortunate to participate on the team that invented the an anesthesia simulator and had the opportunity to apply programming and physiology knowledge to creating a pregnant version of our simulator during my fellowship. I have a special interest in education and have coauthored an anesthesia textbook for medical students, Essential Anesthesia: from Science to Practice, which is now in its second edition.
I’m a writer in my spare time and have written two medical thrillers. I participate in the international thriller and mystery writing community.
