The UF Health Congenital Heart Center Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging Laboratory has the latest in technology, including leading-edge echo machines, a supine exercise bike echo stress laboratory, 3D echo probes and 3D analysis software.

We are committed to continued advancement in noninvasive cardiac imaging. Our entire faculty is involved in the instruction of echocardiography to pediatric residents and cardiology fellows, as well as to sonographers from surrounding hospitals.

The UF Health Congenital Heart Center’s pediatric cardiologists and pediatric sonographers travel to outreach clinics in Ocala, Daytona and Tallahassee with portable echo machines to perform expert pediatric/congenital echocardiograms at these locations. At UF Health, we have developed a UF Health Congenital Heart Center Telemedicine network in which outside institutions — such as hospitals and clinics at distant locations — can electronically send echo studies of children and adults with CHD who are cared for at their facilities and can receive expert interpretation from our physicians.

The UF Health Congenital Heart Center is accredited by ICAEL in transthoracic, transesophageal and fetal echocardiography. The requirements for ICAEL accreditation for pediatric centers like ours exceed the requirements for adult echocardiography labs and require both additional imaging and interpretation expertise because of unique pediatric scenarios.
