As a result of the recent Executive Order from the office of the Governor of the State of Florida and out of an abundance of caution and concern for our patients during the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have postponed the scheduling of elective surgeries and procedures until further notice. This helps us minimize the chance of infection for our patients and staff, conserves the use of personal protective equipment and maintains resources for those who might become critically ill in the future. We will resume scheduling elective surgeries and other procedures once the situation improves. Please reach out to your primary health care provider if you have any questions or concerns.

UF Health now provides advanced cardiothoracic and vascular surgical care in the Daytona area. Our physicians reside in Daytona and care for patients locally in Volusia County at our UF Health Heart and Vascular Surgery – Halifax Health practice. They perform surgeries at Halifax Health, however, as UF faculty members, they travel periodically to operate with the cardiovascular and vascular teams at UF Health Shands Hospital in Gainesville. Our surgeons coordinate the care for any of their patients who might require additional services at UF Health. Learn more about our heart and vascular program at Halifax.
