The Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology Service offers a variety of radiographic and consultative services to practitioners.
Dictated reports including findings, diagnostic impressions, and pertinent comments are returned to the referring practitioner for all procedures performed and for films submitted for review.
Procedures available include:
- Routine plain film radiography of the teeth and facial bones.
- Temporomandibular joint imaging, including arthrography, CT and MRI.
- Paranasal sinus evaluation.
- Presurgical dental implant evaluations using conventional tomography or CT.
- Digital imaging for dental offices.
- Caries diagnosis, and monitoring of disease activity.
Also available are magnetic resonance imaging and computed tomography, including three-dimensional reconstructions of temporomandibular joints, odontogenic or non-odontogenic pathoses, traumatic and developmental craniofacial abnormalities. On a consultative basis, evaluations of office radiographic quality assurance programs (technique, darkroom processing, etc.) and radiation hygiene practices can be performed.
Interpretation Service for Cone Beam CT Studies and other Radiographs
We provide formal interpretation reports for all types of imaging studies of the oral and maxillofacial region, including cone beam CTs and conventional planar images. Three board certified oral and maxillofacial radiologists are available for consults.
Imaging studies may be uploaded through our secure portal to the university’s server, and consult forms may be emailed or faxed to our practice. A detailed instruction guide is available in the links below.
Reports will usually be returned the next business day and are guaranteed to be returned within four. Please feel free to contact our office with any questions.

Reduced-Fee Dental Care
UF College of Dentistry students and faculty participate in programs such as the We Care Physicians Network (352-334-7926).Such programs provide limited services for qualified individuals that may be reduced in fees.

The UF College of Dentistry dental centers in Gainesville, Hialeah, Naples, St. Petersburg and Wildlight accept a variety of Group Insurance and Medicaid and Managed Care insurance plans. If you have a different dental insurance, payment is required at the time of service. However, we can assist you in filing for reimbursement from your insurance company by providing a dental claim form.
