The Department of Pediatric Dentistry provides oral health services for children and adolescents in a friendly, warm environment with the newest technologies and procedures. Our center house a pediatric dental educational program where dental students and residents are learning how to provide the best care for children. All oral health services are provided by dental students, dental residents or faculty. When students or residents are providing care, every step is supervised by one or more of faculty members.

Our Services

  • We accept new patients from birth through 13 years of age. If you are already a patient, we will treat you until you turn 21.
  • We provide care for children with special needs who are referred to us by a UF Health physician.
  • Our Infant Oral Health Clinic treats children who are under the age of 3; please call the clinic at 352-273-7643 for more information.
  • When necessary, we provide oral health care for children with complex or extensive needs in an operating room under general anesthesia.

        New Patients

        • Our next new patient call in date is: Friday, January 15 at 2pm.
        • Due to the high demand for our services, we are unable to treat everyone who would like to be seen in our center. In order to manage the volume of requests, we schedule times that we accept phone calls for new patient appointments.
        • Our call-in dates work like a lottery system. We take appointments for new patients until our schedule is full.

New Patients – self-pay only or with insurance

        • On Friday afternoons, a limited number of appointments are available for self-paying patients or those who have dental insurance accepted by our center (We accept Aetna PPO, Eagles Direct, Guardian, Sunlife and United Concordia insurance.) Please call 352-294-5516 for an appointment.

Our dental center includes 11 private operatories, an open area with four dental chairs, radiology on-site, and two sedation suites and a recovery room for patients who need extensive dental work done or who have high anxiety or other issues with dental treatment.
