UF Health Newborn Nursery

Many babies born at University of Florida Health often go to our Newborn Nursery which sees about 3,000 to 5,000 well newborns each year. Our Newborn Nursery is staffed by all board-certified pediatricians and provides care for healthy term and late preterm infants following delivery and throughout the duration of their stay. Our team performs several elective procedures, including circumcisions and frenotomies, among others. We also provide lactation and occupational therapy support for breastfeeding mothers and as a certified Baby Friendly hospital, we provide couplet care, ensuring the baby stays at bedside with mom.

Pregnancy Symptoms

Fatigue, morning sickness and unusual food cravings are all symptoms commonly associated with pregnancy. However, each stage of a woman’s pregnancy brings different hormonal changes, challenges and the need to make lifestyle adjustments.
