Laura Castro

Laura Castro - Authors - UF Health

Laura Castro is a communications coordinator on the Strategic Communications team at UF Health Communications. She graduated summa cum laude from UF’s College of Journalism and Communications, and has a bachelor’s degree in public relations. Laura currently creates diverse communications plans for a wide range of clients, utilizing her multimedia experience and content-development skills. She also produces and edits material for online and print publications, and supports system-wide projects and initiatives. Prior to her position at UF Health, Laura developed communications and marketing material for the Gainesville Fisher House Foundation. Her responsibilities at the organization included planning fundraising events, implementing charitable-giving programs and managing media relations. She also worked closely with the executive director to develop new community outreach initiatives. While completing her degree at UF, Laura interned at a wide range of organizations, including a nonprofit law firm, medical pregnancy center and music company.
