Attention
To volunteer, you must be in Gainesville to attend a mandatory, in-person onboarding session. If you will not be in Gainesville for a semester's session, you will need to apply for a future semester.
Timeline for spring 2027 volunteer applications
Step 1: Register for a mandatory Zoom information session
Registration opens Monday, Nov. 9, 2026 at noon.
- Registration is first come, first served and will close once all 800 spots are filled.
- Openings typically fill within the first minute, so early registration is strongly encouraged.
- Choose one of the following sessions to attend. Registration links will be available here starting Nov. 9 at noon.
Session 1
Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2027. 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. Link available Nov. 9 at noon.
Session 2
Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2027. 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Link available Nov. 9 at noon.
Those who successfully register will receive a confirmation email from Zoom with login instructions.
Step 2: Attend the mandatory Zoom information session (required)

These sessions will cover:
- Current volunteer opportunities
- Volunteer requirements and expectations
- Steps and deadlines to complete the application process
You must log in before the session begins and attend the full session to move forward in the onboarding process.
Step 3: Attend a mandatory in-person onboarding session (required)
Monday, Jan. 11, 2027
- Mandatory, in-person onboarding sessions will take place Monday, Jan. 11, 2027. (Location and times will be announced during the Zoom information session.)
- Attendance at an in-person onboarding session is required to continue in the process.
- Onboarding sessions will take place at UF Health Shands Hospital.
- If you will not be in Gainesville by Jan. 11, please apply for a future semester.
Step 4: Finalize your volunteer placement
Jan. 12 – Feb. 12, 2027
- Complete all remaining onboarding steps between Jan. 12 and Feb. 12, 2027 to secure your volunteer position.

Common questions
Q: What if registration fills before I get a spot?
A: Apply again for the next semester's cycle.
Q: I registered but didn't get a Zoom confirmation email.
A: Check spam/junk and then contact Volunteer Services at (352) 265-0360.
Q: What if I join the Zoom session late or have to leave early?
A: You must log in before the session begins and attend the full session to move forward in onboarding.
Q: I won't be in Gainesville on Jan. 11. Can I still apply?
A: Not for spring 2027. Please apply for a future semester when you'll be in Gainesville for onboarding. Summer 2027 details will be posted here in late March to early April.

Information about parking
To provide parking for our patients, our garages are closed to UF and UF Health students, faculty and staff. Please use your normal methods of transportation to campus (i.e., busing, biking, walking). For additional transportation resources, such as scooters, campus connector and buses, please visit taps.ufl.edu.
