Volunteer Requirements
Volunteers must meet certain requirements to comply with hospital policies and regulations.
Immunization records
Obtain a physical paper copy of your immunization records from your doctor, high school, parents, or college with the information below. UF students and UF Health patients may use myUFHealth to obtain their records. Non-degree seeking adults who are unable to obtain immunization records should contact Volunteer Services.
- Measles/Mumps/Rubella: Documentation of 2 measles/mumps/rubella vaccinations or serological (laboratory testing) proof of immunity to measles (rubeola) and rubella (German measles)
- Varicella (Chicken Pox): Documentation of 2 varicella vaccinations OR serological (laboratory testing) proof of immunity to varicella
- tDap: Documentation of Tdap vaccination received when 11 years or older AND within the last 10 years
- Proof of current flu vaccination (Required September – April)
- Hepatitis B vaccine series: Documentation of 3 Hepatitis B vaccine series. Required for those interested in volunteering in the Emergency Room, or Dental Clinics
Background screening
Successfully complete Volunteer background screening through our approved vendor.
Complete the online orientation modules
Log into myTraining (Non-UF students will need to create a temporary account to access the online orientation materials. Access a guide to walk you through the process.)
Complete the following training modules below and print the certificate of completion for each. Certificates can be found by clicking on Training Transcript, then clicking on the small icons next to the module titles.

- Embracing Our Service Culture at UF Health
Read the Code of Conduct and the Volunteer Handbook
- Code of Conduct - Print and sign the Code of Conduct Acknowledgement Form
- Volunteer Handbook - Print and complete the Handbook Quiz
- Gift Stop Handbook – Print and complete the Handbook Quiz (Gift Stop volunteers only)
- VolunTEEN Handbook - High School Students
Dental volunteers only
Volunteers interested in the dental clinics must complete the following, in addition to the requirements above.
- BBP/BMW Dentistry training module (print the certificate of completion).
- Print the BBP form and fill it out. All three Hepatitis B vaccines are required in order to volunteer in the Dental Clinics.
You CANNOT be placed as a dental volunteer if you do not bring these required documents to your placement appointment.
Pediatric volunteers
Volunteers interviewed and accepted in pediatric volunteer program (Child Life, Dream Team or Footprints) must complete the following trainings.
Complete the following training modules below and print the certificate of completion for each.
- Child Life Volunteer Program training module
- CLP Toy Cleaning training module
- Pediatric Fall Prevention training module
You CANNOT be placed as a pediatric volunteer if you do not bring this paperwork to your placement appointment.
