Brighten Someone's Day with Random Acts of Kindness
Random acts of kindness are encouraged all year, but on February 17, Americans officially come together to focus on doing good to those around us, especially those who aren't expecting it. Not only does this benefit those for whom we perform these good deeds, but scientists now know that it also has long-term positive effects on our own health and well-being.
- Use the following list as inspiration to get started at the workplace:
- Leave a "thank you" note for the person who makes coffee for your department
- Leave a note with a positive message in the bathroom stall or on the mirror
- Give a co-worker a compliment
- Compliment an employee to his or her manager
- Take a moment to thank your co-workers at your next staff meeting
Don't forget to pay it forward! If you are on the receiving end of a random act of kindness, don't break the chain. How many lives can you brighten today?
